Meet in a public place
Always meet in a busy, well-lit public location — a cafe, shopping centre, or bank lobby. Avoid meeting at home or in isolated areas. Daytime meets are safest.
Transfer crypto only after inspecting
Never send crypto before you've inspected the item in person and are satisfied. Crypto transactions are irreversible — once sent, funds cannot be recalled.
Watch out for common scams
Be wary of buyers/sellers who won't meet in person, pressure you to act fast, ask for extra fees, or claim to have sent crypto and need you to confirm. If it feels off, walk away.
Only trade with verified sellers
Verified sellers have completed identity checks and are accountable. Look for the blue verified badge on profiles and listings before agreeing to a deal.
Keep communication on CoinShed
Use our in-app messenger for all deal communication. This creates a record of your agreement and helps us investigate if anything goes wrong. Never move to WhatsApp or email.
Report suspicious behaviour
If a user makes you uncomfortable or you suspect fraud, use the Report button on their profile or listing. Our team reviews every report within 24 hours.
